This classic US Army T-Boat was build by National Shipbuilding Co in San Diego,Ca. and is going through a complete renovation and refit where no expense has been spared. The engine was new in 1986 and has been completely rebuilt by a professional mechanic.  The owner hopes that the new buyer will have the same passion to finish the project and get her ready for a new career at sea as a work or pleasure vessel, the possibilities are endless. History
  • Delivered to US Army Depot, Beaverton, Oregon, 506th Transportation Company by Upper Columbia River Towing Company, 8/7/54
  • November 1959 requested by 362nd Transportation Company, Vallejo, California but not considered economical due to location.
  • 10/31/77, transferred to Washington State Voctech Education as McNeil Island prison ferry, renamed "S.E. Raymond", operated until 12/18/86 and sold at auction.
  • Purchased by Warren Huff and renamed "Scotsman", converted to fishing tender based in Gig Harbor, Washington and operated in southeast Alaska.
  • 8/04 purchased by Clint and Debbie LaFontaine, rechristened "T-Sarge" Port Townsend, Washington
  • Cruised Puget Sound waters until 10/25/07 then headed south down Pacific coast.
  • Entered Ensenada, Mexico 2/15/11 and has been cruising Mexican waters.
  • 03/16 purchased by the new buyer and renovations begin. 
  • 10/17 purchased by new buyer and renovations continue.
Renovations Needed

Some major projects still will need to be completed are as followed:

  • Install Marine-Standard Electrical and Plumbing System 
  • Upgrade Navigation Equipment

Estimation of approximately $30,000 usd to complete the project for comfort and safety 

Renovations Done
  • A lot of work has been done on this classic yacht within the last couple of years. with only a little more work to put her back in the water. From the list of major projects that have been accomplished so far are:
  • Repairs to the hull and structure, Custom-shaped patches of marine-grade steel sheets have been welded
  • Repaint of the hull, topside, decks and main cabin, including all the bilges and inside spaces with corrosion resistant primer and paint
  • New access to the roof tops with custom built steps and a new sliding hatch from the pilothouse
  • New safety hand-rails all around the roof that will largely increase the surface of usable area of the vessel
  • Entire bulkhead of the forward quarters has been moved aft, giving ample living space for accommodations to the bow area
  • New reinforced chain bin has been designed to store the anchor chain off the foredeck and below deck
  • New see-through custom designed Plexiglas aft door has been built to access the aft deck directly from the main cabin and let daylight come in, and more
  • Arranged and paid for installation of the main engine back in the engine room. 
  • Purchased and arranged for the installation of a engine room marine generator 
  • Arranged installation of the shaft/propeller and steering systems
  • Windlass rebuild 
  • Other projects of varying importance have been planned
